30 days after a credit application still in pending status?

I have a credit card application that is in it's 30th day since I applied.. as of today it's in "pending status" on their website. With no letters recieved at all of any kind. It's my understanding by law that they must reply before the 30 days ends. Tommorrow will be 31 days.. what should I do if this happens.. can I request my inquiry back on my credit report if they approve me or not? Can anything else be done?

Extra info.. my fico scores are around 750+ for all.. over 20 credit accounts open.. as high as 25k+ limits with not a lot balance on most of them a few inquires (5-10) in the past couple years.. all paid on time, zero delinquencies.. oldest account over 12 years.

You should call and follow up. And with a positive, friendly attitude.

At this point because it's now past 30 days it may be too late to end up with anything but a denial.

If they don't contact you within another 14 days you can consider filing a complaint online with the FDIC (or NCUA, if the credit application was with a CU) for failure to notify you in a timely fashion of the outcome of your application.
