91/3 with NFCU coming up...

What do you all think? Will Navy show me the luv and give me a second card with a healthy starting limit? 91/3 comes up soon. The third statement drops on June 7. The first charge to my card was on March 9 for the fee to Fed Ex my card to me. So the 91st day comes a couple days after the statement drops. I have opened a fair number of new accounts this year to accomplish my credit rebuild so I could buy a home (which I closed yesterday!). My FICO 8s are: EQ 693, TU 696, EX 677. My FICO 9s are: EQ 699, TU 724, EX 681. My Inqs are: EQ 6 in 12 months, TU 9 in 12 months, and EX (lol) 14 in 12 months, though 2 fall off in June. Navy approved me and started me only with a $500 CL on a Cash Rewards Card, but that was earlier in my rebuild. I have $150K + income. Utilization is at 5%. I have my direct deposit going into Navy. I have been depositing a few hundred a month into a Navy savings account for a couple months. Now that I've accomplished my major goal, I intend to go into the garden, but the only other credit product I would like is a Navy card with a great limit to become my daily use card. Do you think Navy will show me that luv for the second card?

@Anonymous   I think Navy will show you Heart

They are not really moved by by scores, Inqs or new accounts.

They mostly look at DTI (debt to Income) and BK's.

To give you an example, I have had the worst credit seeking behavior, tons of Inqs and new accts.

over the same time, I started with Navy May 2019 .. I am almost at max $80K exposure in May 2020.

Navy has a pre-qual tool for members. Use it to see if any offers show up

Good luck

Better to call for Pre-Qual, offers are solid. on line tool is not reliable per DP's.

Re: 91/3 with NFCU coming up...

It looks like your credit profile is sronger than mine, and I will be trying for my 2nd card on the 8th. I have been using my secured card with them, put almost 3K spend on it with Direct Deposit funds paying in full before the statement cuts (multiple times) and have also been depositing in a savings account with them. When I applied for the secured, the rep told me I was qualified for the others but I was too worried about denial. I probably would have gotten a $500SL just like you (and many others). My gut tells me to tell you to go for it, if you aren't too worried about inq's, you can always apply again in 3 months (my current backup plan). Make sure to get that CLI on your Cash Rewards after your 2nd card results too!

good luck, hopefully we will be in the approvals board next week! Have a good weekend

@Meanmchine  I haven't been able to locate the prequalify tool, even with the link from the main thread, since that first day it was posted. I swear, I have tried every method Mac/pc/mobile and browser.

In that case, call custormer support and ask if you are currently prequalified for any offers and they will let you know over the phone

Good luck !!!
