AMEX BCE 3X on activation

Just activated my BCE and tried the 3x cli.

Starting limit $5k

asked for $15k

Income entered $75k

I was hoping for instant approval like everyone else but I got the 7-10 day written response. Sounds like a denial.

Same thing for me today, BCE 5k 3xcli at activation but was also giving the 7-10. Pretty sure it's a denial.

You may want to call in and cancel your CLI request. Then you can submit the request again after 60 days instead of having to wait for 90 days.

Did you have to recon for the card application? I had two recon twice just to get approved for the card at 5k. So I'm not surprised my CLI is prob declined.

Same thing happened to me, and to be honest, I SHOULD'VE been denied.

I have a CO on Amex still on my reports. I just SETTLED with them two months ago for 40% of what i owed. Somehow, they just approved me for an ED w/ $5k limit and my scores are in the 660's.

I haven't gotten their denial letter but I'd imagine it's gonna sound something like, "You ungrateful swine, we just gave you $5k because our computer was drunk on grain alcohol and you've just asked for $15K? What IS WRONG WITH YOU EXACTLY?!"

Eh. 90 days down the road, however, I will again extend my hand, open it, and ask Amex for more of their special brand of insanity.
