AMEX Pre-qual

I went to AMEX to try and prequal for a travel card and they offered me a green card. Made me feel like an illegal alien :/ Anyway, this is what it says on the offer so I am hesitant to appy. 

We found the following pre-qual offers for you.

Below it shows green card

Under Offer type it says Existing prescreened offer you received in the mail......??????What does this mean, is it pre-qual or not

If you are pre-qual for green, You will have a decent shot at PRG.  Green is pretty worthless for an AF card.

really? It's a better card ofc. Well, I just disputed somethings on my report. I will wait till they fall off to apply. That should boost my score by 50-100points

It says I qualify for the PRG, Blue Cash and Everyday card. I applied and got denied. It didn't even offer me the green card.

Sorry to hear that! I just went through the same thing with a Discover It pre-qual. You wnat your HP's to count and it's sad when they result in denials.

Years ago I owned a different business and I got mailers from AMEX all the time. I applied and got denied more than once so I called them and went off on them because I was getting 2-3 mailers a week for cards I could not get. I don't mind getting denied, but stop sending them. it took forever but they finally stopped. I think that might have opt'd me out and if that is the case, that might be why the pre qualifying tool isn't working for me. No clue how to reverse that or if I even want to. My new business (5 years old) is getting e-mails from them for the PRG and I got denied for that too. I think Amex hates me.

Have you received anything in the mail from them?  When I received a mailer from them, I went to the site and filled out the prequalify info.  I got the same message.  I didn't proceed because it wasn't the card I wanted.  The mailer will have an invitation code on it.  That is what they are looking for.  I did end up applying a few weeks later and was approved.

I didnt apply for that but I applied for the premier gold card and got approved. Woot. Idk what npsl means so I am waiting for my card. If anyone has the low down on this card I would much appreciate it. Also, how to use the rewards and everything about it. Please give me a link if needed. I am noob

Npsl = No pre set limit I believe
