Yep, 90 days, except there is no longer any such thing as too soon.

There's no such thing as too soon as in you can be approved at any time, but the misconception that Amex just gives out 3x CLI with no rhyme or reason is still rampant around here. Any CLI is based on your profile. Amex no longer abides by waiting the initial 61 days for a CLI, but that doesn't mean you are guaranteed approval at any point.
OP, you simply have to wait 90 days, improve whatever reasons they listed and try again. Good luck.
thank you!
Ahh you're right. Looked over the word "initial" in the title. ![]()

Thought the 180 day rule is still rock solid?

You waited too soon and even after 60-90 days, there's no guarantee that you're gonna get the full 3x. When I had that Delta Skymiles card, I went for the 3x on the 61st day and got a counteroffer to double my limit instead.

i read somewhere on the forums that the 61 day rule no longer applies...BUT if it is your first AMEX account you still have to wait 61 days.
If that is the case, for the few of us that just opened our first amex and immediatly asked for luv before 61 days, I'm assuming we will have to only wait the 61 days from acct open.
I will try on the 61st day and let everyone know for sure.(6/22/15)

I believe 180 days applies when you arre approved, if it's a decline then it's 90 days, unless it's a decline for applying before the 90 days is up.
