Added as AU to Citibank Costco visa

I am currently rebuilding my credit, My scores are in the low 600s, my sister just recently applied for a Citibank Costco visa and was approved for $3k CL. She added me on as an AU. I am wondering how long should I stay on as AU before applying for the same cc on my own and will this help my chances when/if I decide to apply for any other cc funded by Citibank?

Citibank AU is pretty useless as far as I know as they don't ask for ssn so it doesn't show up on your report.

I added my brother to my Citi-Costco Visa last month and Citi did ask me for his SSN. They also informed me that adding him as an AU would help his credit score, of course, as long as my payment history and utilization remained good.

Citi is a fairly equal opertunity creditor as long as you dont have baddies or huge amounts of inquiries. They are happy to take some risk on new people. They only dont like getting burned. Citi will even share you with other banks without complaint. You could have gotten in without being an AU. Also remember the Cosco card requires that you maintain the membership to keep the card.

I'm one of those people who love Costco. I've been a member since 1998 😀. I'm just glad to have gotten my foot in the door with Citi. I am looking to apply for the DC card in December and hoping for a $10K SL. I got a $4K SL with Costco Visa.
