Advice: Slate and Freedom Application

So I was checking Chase pre-screened offers the other day, and it said I had offers for Slate and Freedom.  I decided to app for both (within seconds of each other).  Consequently I hit submit on Freedom card first as that's the one I wanted more.  After watching the spinning for a period of time, the Slate came back approved and the Freedom with a 30 day message.  I've called a few different numbers, but not sure I'm getting the right people as the conversations I have with people are very short and not very forthcoming with any information.  Any advice on how to go about recon efforts for the Freedom?

Re: Advice: Slate and Freedom Application

Reconsideration is for when an application has been denied. Anecdotal evidence here suggests that a 30-day message usually leads to approval with Chase so you may want to just wait it out.

I plan on waiting it out, just really thought it was funny I got the 30 day message on the one I submitted first, and instant approval on the second one.  Didn't really expect that, but also thought calling the backdoor analyst I might have luck in getting an answer sooner, but it was like talking to someone that didn't have a clue.

So I got this in response: "too many requests for credit or opened accounts with us".

I only have 1 account now - Slate. Is this worth a recon? Advice?

Re: Advice: Slate and Freedom Application

basguru,

I was offered the same cards from chase, however I did not app for them yet. I was wondering if you would share your starting limit for the slate? I want to aplly but I want to maximize my HP for the card.

Re: Advice: Slate and Freedom Application

I got $1000. Not what I wanted but it will help some balance transfers and got me in with Chase. I still really wanted the freedom and still show the same offers on chase site.

Thanks for your response. A balance transfer is what I am looking to do.

Re: Advice: Slate and Freedom Application

So not much advice but what is the best number to call and find out more? I've tried a few with no luck on any answers.
