Hi,
This is my first time formally seeking the forums' advice, I've been reading through the forums for about a year now. I have been getting prequals for barclay rewards, chase freedom/slate, and a cap 1 platinum. All offers have invitation codes and specific APRs. I was wondering if should bother apping or just wait.
My Info--
Currently I have 3 cards, Gap Visa (7100 CL), BOA 123 (800), both opened on 5/12/2014 and Discover it (6000) opened 11/17/2014. In addition, I a new car loan 3/12/15 (~17000) and my student loans (~34000), loan repayment starts in July. My utilization is currently about 35% total with no card reporting over 50% individually. According to CK, my AAoA is ~22 months and my inquiries were 4-EX, 4-EQ, 6-TU. With most 2,2, and 4 respectively due to the car loan. My TU-FICO is 678 as of May's discover statement. I live with my mother currently and use my cards to help her as she does not have access to credit herself. Idk if I can claim any of her income as she is often the primary user of the credit cards.
Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.
First i'd go with the Chase Freedom because they are giving $200 after spending $500. Also, I'd take the Barclays and if you are interested in CAP 1, don't apply for the platinum istead apply for the Venture or VentureOne.
Also this -According to CK, my AAoA is ~22 months and my inquiries were 4-EX, 4-EQ, 6-TU. CK only gives you TU and EQ so I am not sure how you are getting the info for EX.
Lastly, this -I live with my mother currently and use my cards to help her as she does not have access to credit herself. Idk if I can claim any of her income as she is often the primary user of the credit cards. You cannot claim any of your mother's income on the application...
Keep us posted on the results should you apply for any of the cards..
Ok, I'll definitely look into apping for the chase freedom card then. I get like 3 or so offers each week through the mail, so hopefully thats a good sign.
The Ex info came for credit.com
You cannot claim any of your mother's income on the application...: I wasnt sure since when i applied for my discover card they asked me if a received or had access to any supplementary income I would like to claim. The rep said that if I receive a portion of my parents income in the form of allowance or what not I could claim it.
Ill keep you guys posted on the status and results of my applications.
