Am I ready to apply for CSP?

As you guys know I have been rebuilding / cleaning up my reports for a while, and think I may have finally reached a point where I'm in a good spot for CSP.

Last summer when I got started, my scores were mid 600's, had only some car loans, a PLOC, and a single credit card all through a CU.

As of today, reports are clean save for a 7 year old paid judgement that is due to fall off in Sept/Oct this fall.  Barclays is showing my TU as 762, Citi shows EQ at 713, and I'm still waiting for an EX update but with 3 collections reporting it was at 718, so with those gone I'm pretty sure it's at least as high as TU. Not sure why EQ is so much lower.

The reason I'm asking if you guys think I should be good to apply now is that I want to buy my plane tickets next month for an international trip later this summer.

CSP and Freedom are showing for me on Chase's prequal now btw.

Thoughts or suggestions?

If you're showing as pre approved for the CSP, then your chances for approval are very good.  As long as your utilization isn't exorbitant then I'd say go ahead and apply.  Good luck and make sure to post your approval.

Thanks Irish, good to hear!  My utilization is reporting 1% across all reports so should be all set! Forgot to also mention INQs are EX 7 EQ 1 TU 5 so hopefully that's not too high.

That's fine.  Chase isn't really that inquiry sensitive if the rest of your credit file is clean.  If you really want the card and can put it to good use, go ahead and apply.

Re: Am I ready to apply for CSP?

You should be fine...Chase prequal is prett reliable I believe...the 5/24 thing is something to be aware of...some have beaten it/others haven't.

My profile was much worse than yours and scores in the mid 600s when I was approved for Freedom/CSP/Slate...only prequaled for Freedom and Slate.

Good luck!!
