If your credit limit hasn't change then most likely a decline. When I got the CLI it was almost immediately update online.

With all of these AmEx CLI approvals, I decided to at least throw the app in. Usually, the page says "you've requested a CLI within the past 6 months, blah blah blah wait until after then". But this time, it actually let me apply for it. So I did and got the 7-10day message. Soon after, I got an email saying they made a decision and to log in to the status page. Well, now it won't let me log into the check status page.
My credit limit on my account hasn't changed. I went to the chat, and the rep said to wait still and to ignore the email.
What do you guys think?
I jumped the gun today too and got the 7-10 message. I called the number on the back of the card and I asked them to check the status. She said she could reenter the request and I would get an email. I got an email response like yours, obviously about her request saying I had already been declined within the last 90 days. Obviously I hadn't before today, so I am assuming I was declined with the 7-10 message originally. The recon dept. is closed until Monday..but I will call them then.
Amex won't recon a decline unless there is something incorrect with the report they based their decision on. Not saying they won't but chances are very slim.

Well, I figured it was worth a shot. I don't know when they last soft pulled me, but in the last month I have significantly lowered my credit card debt and have the only negative account deleted from my credit report. I don't know if they have seen this updated info and the CSR said I could call the credit increase dept.
