I recently applied for the card and got denied. I called for the recon line and was told about the 5/24 and that's why I wasn't approved. I was under the impression that the Amazon chase card didn't fall under the 5/24. Anyone know if that's a recent change?
5/24 applies to the Amazon Visa cards just like any other Chase card (it's not anything new). While we do see an occasional DP of someone getting an approval at or above 5/24 on the Amazon cards (IIRC a couple got past on Southwest too?), the vast majority of applications will be denied on the spot for 5/24
My question would be what's your 5/24 status? Is it a little over, or more like lol/24?
You're not wrong in your thinking as there are tons of threads, here as well as all over internet land that show this rule on the Amazon card (and some other co-branded cards) has been largely disregarded by Chase for some time now.
Sorry OP. Is there anything you could share about your profile? IIRC in the summer of 2021, there seemed like a good number of approvals for the Prime card over 5/24.
Here are some recent examples of other Chase approvals > 5/24.
