American Express Gold Rewards, 50K offer instead of the usual 25K

Just when I was ready to apply for a SPG card, I found an AMEX gold card with a 50K points offer with $1000 spent and first year waived.  I immediately jumped on it and was approved.  I have never had a charge card before, not sure how different I should handle it given it has no limit.  But I know I will easily blow $1K on it to get my $500 points!

if you can afford the 3k addtl spend, go app for the SPG and it should merge with that single experian inquiry. Can u spend 4k in 90 days?

I could, but I think I am done for now as I got 5 cards in 2 weeks.  I am sure my credit will take a hit, but whatever.   Since my wife has the SPG and I have too many cards to fit in my wallet,  it's best to quit while I am ahead.  I might try to hit the 10K thresold on some of them to earn a higher status too.

I got these new cards, AMEX gold, Fairmont, BA, Citi Prestige.  The only card I want and didn't get is the Hyatt.
