Amex 3X CLI/61 day question

For those who got an early 3x CLI, is this your first card with amex? Or were you an AU on someone's card before?

Do you think being an AU played a part in getting an early increase versus waiting the full 61 days?

#justwondering.

Also, if you did recieve an early increase (in my case I believe 2 weeks after opening the card) when would you be eligible for another increase? I am guessing the 3x CLI would not be still available at the 61 day mark??

Re: Amex 3X CLI/61 day question

I just got my 3x CLI today after only having the card for 55 days, it was an instant approval. I was never an AU on someone's account and this is my very first AMEX card. From my understanding, you are not eligible for another CLI for 181 days from the day you were granted a CLI regardless if you received it before the 61st day or not.

I did use my card a TON and paid the balance in full everytime. I actually allowed it to carry a balance after the statement closing date and then paid it off.

Being an AU on another card does not determine whether you get an early CLI.

You now have to wait 181 days until you can  try again.

I got a CLI 2 weeks before the 61 days was up, at the time it wasn't my first AMEX but my first in awhile since I've had them back in 1995. If you got an AUTO CLI then you can still get the 3X CLI but if you requested it then you'd have to wait 181 days.
