I've got an itchy trigger finger on the Amex ED now that the 25K bonus started showing up on my incognito.
I currently have 4 revolvers which seems to be a soft limit for some people, though more have reported being able to get a 5th recently. I browsed to the ED offer on my normal browser while logged in and it said I was pre-approved. Got the standard wide APR range, though.
How good are my chances?

I've had success with AMEX pre-approvals. I had a Platinum for a year and bc of a blacklist issue could never get a revolver. The other day the pre-approved came up for everything and was able to get two revolvers in the same night each with 10k limit. They usually aren't hard pulls, even when approved lately. I'd pull the trigger! If you are looking for a high limit, I've seen more success with their new Hilton card with no annual fee.
I don't think the preapproval is indicative of you getting a 5th revolver with AMEX. While people have been able to get approved for that 5th card it seems YMMV dependent on how strong your credit profile is with them; I see you have good sized limits as well as 2 charge cards atm so you look solid atm. If you're confident your scores and income are good enough and you really want that card I would say go ahead and do it. I would just be prepared to possibly move limits around and/or even close a card out if recon is necessary. At least that's the way I see it.

I've only applied when I've seen pre-approvals and was approved each time. If needed for approval, would you be fine if they had to move some credit lines around from your other cards? For the 25K offer, it would be worth it to me.

I don’t care if they pull limits from my existing cards since they are all pretty high.
I feel pretty confident I’m good to go for it. The only thing stopping me is I don’t want another new account until I’m ready to app for the Venture which probably won’t be until mid May.
I’m thinking if the ED offer is still available at the end of this month I might app then since it won’t report until May. Still a gamble on SP/HP though.
You've gotten a HP for AMEX apps after your first approval?
