Amex AU application question

I'm AU on my brothers platinum card I have my own sign in it shows my own credit report and everything. My question is if I apply for an Amex card of my own would it still be a soft pull or would it be a hard pull? I know on here many have said when they apply for another Amex it's usually a soft pull because you're already a member. My question is how does that work if you are just AU with your own sign in? It even backdated my card member since to 2015 despite my brother who is the primary cardholders saying 2022

If you do not have an open AMEX card where you have financial responsibility for payment you should expect a hard pull. 

As an AU you bear no responsiblity for payment of your brother's card so the guidance regarding an existing cardholder probably avoiding an additional hard pull does not apply.
