Hey everyone,
New to the site and been reading a lot in the last few weeks. I couldn't find any threads about this specific scenario, so I'm hoping for some forum help!
After receiving a number of CC offers in the mail, I decided on applying for the Amex BCE on 12/2/14. I was instantly approved with the promotional offer of a $50 statement credit and 1 year of Amazon prime after spending $1000 in 3 months. Pretty standard offer from what I can tell.
The problem is that yesterday, I realized that one of the offers I received in the mail was for the BCE card with a $200 statement credit and 1 year of Amazon prime after spending $1000 in 3 months.
I tried chatting with a representative to see if they would match the offer and they said they'd put in an "inquiry" but couldn't give me any kind of timeframe. Today, I decided to call in and after getting transferred around and explaining the situation with 5 different people I didn't get any closer. The best I got was that I should apply for the card again making sure I use the offer code from my letter and then cancel the account I already was approved for. They said my report would be pulled again but I really don't know if I want that to happen.
Any advice on what you would do?
If I apply again, how much would another credit pull affect me? (I opened an auto loan 6 months ago but have no other inquiries in the last couple years until this week)
Thanks for any help.

I think amex only allows 1 sign up bonus. So if you applied again or for a new card again of theirs they won't give you the signup bonus. If I'm not mistaken that is.
Makes sense. What if I don't activate the card that I've already been approve for? Wonder if that makes me still eligible.

Not so.
It's one per card. I got two at the same time.
