IDK--Somehow you may have requested too early--or you've hit your max. exposure. I'm gonna be watching this thread closely b/c my 6 mos. is up towards the end of July and I'm still on the fence on which card to try to increase and by how much.

My brother requested a CLI last week. It went 7-10 pending. He was within the correct request period. They granted him a a 2X CLI after 2 days pending review.

It was interesting because they normally counter. He did apply for it within hours of the EX SP updating. Perhaps their systems weren’t fully updated and they went off the previous months pull. There was a 30 point gap between the two SPs as he mistakenly let two balances report to other lender cards in the month prior.

Just providing you some feedback based on my Bro’s experience and the 7-10 message.

A 7-10 day notice may not mean a non-approval. However, since you only requested a $5000 increase on top of your current $23,000CL it might well be that you are at max exposure with AMEX. 

Please keep us updated with the final decision. Hopefully you will get the CLI.

Amex is weird. I tried for a CLI and it told me systems are updating. Try again in 24 hours.

I’ve gotten that message before. Their systems ar updating. I tried again 1/2 day later and got 2x.
