Hello All,
I recently asked for a CLI on my BCP and got the upload 3 bank statement prompt. Suffice to say I did however add a few extra dollars for yearly income and don't want to submit anything at this point due to fluctuations in my bank reserves.
My question is has anyone had this occur and after allowing the request to close on its own without the increase were successful at receiving increases on other held amex cards or able to be approved for new cards anytime later? If so how long does one have to wait to ask for another increase or app for a new card. Current BCP Limit is currently $20k and I asked for increase to $35k. Just wanted to know others experiences or successes if encountered.
Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I don't have firsthand experience, but I have read on these credit rebuilding sites that $35K seems to be the magic number that triggers a financial review. I have also read that if people don't comply, they don't get the requested CLI, but they also don't get their accounts closed. If I were you and manage to escape account closure, I would just lie low for awhile until you can verify the income you report. Good luck.

I've had the experience which you're describing. I let the bank statement request expire, went on using my card and then, I tried again for a manual cli and was successful.

Hi thanks for your feedback! When you say a manual cli what does this mean? Going back into tsystem sometime after the request expired and submitting a new request for a CLI in Account services? Or directly with a Amex customer service representative? Just trying to be clear on what you mean when you say you resubmitted manually when the bank statement one expired..
Coincidentally I got this same request when I tried to increase the limit on my Blue Cash Preferred from $25K to $30K. I have multiple banks and didn't want to load all the required copies of bank statements or give access to all of them to show my income so I just let the request expire. Until it expired I couldn't ask for an increase on any of my other Amex cards. After it expired I was immediately able to ask for an increase on my Blue Business Cash card and oddly enough they didn't ask for me to verify my income. What surprised me most about it was I only wanted $5000 more on the BCP. On the Blue Business Cash they gave me $16,000 more without needing income to be verified. It took the BBC from $9K to $25K. Best wishes to you should you decide to ask again on the same card or a different card!

Appreciate the info my friend! Yes I also have a 10k Amex BBP card and 18k Hilton Surpass both will be due for CLI with heavy usage on both.. Once the bank request one expires I'll probably try on one of the other ones. I put tons of usage on the BCP as well and it would have been my 2nd CLI on it. SL was 15k then increased ro 30k. I then applied for the Hilton Surpass approved for 8k and took 10k from the BCP and added to the Hilton Surpass making it currently 18k.Amex allowed me to move 10k of the BCP limit over to Surpass right after it's approval. My Experian Fico is 795 and hasn't changed at all but maybe asking for CLI from $20k to $35k triggered it. Thought it'd be fine especially with my score and payment history,, usage ect. Utilization sitting on 0% pay off huge balances every month , no missed payments and kind of disappointed it triggered it as I'm certainly not trying to give Amex my banking info.

@jcc332006 you're welcome! For me when I asked on the BCP it would've been my 3rd limit increase had it gotten approved. I got approved at $10K. After 6 months I did a limit increase request to go to $20K which got approved. 6 months after that I asked for another $5K to make it $25K which is where it has stayed. I figured since it had been a couple of years since I had gotten an increase and since I put a lot of spend on it monthly, between grocery shopping and multiple streaming subscriptions, that an additional $5K would be an easy amount to get approved for. I guess though without me providing all the documentation requested I was wrong.
I wonder if you can do the opposite this time. Get a $12K increase on the Surpass and move $10K back to the BCP making it $30K and leaving your Surpass with a nice round number of $20K? It also could be easier to get the amount you desire on the BBP since it is a business card and not a personal card, or at least that was my thought process moving forward after I let the BCP limit increase request expire. Whatever you decide to do, I'm rooting for you to get approved!

Thats sort of what I was going to do if they would have automatically given it to me on the BCP move $5000 over to Surpass. Looks like i'm going to try the method you followed soon as the bank statement request expires! Hopefully I can get the increase. Thanks! I appreciate it! 🙂
