Hey guys,
I would like to increase my CL on my Amex everyday card that hast a 26,500 limit and I have used half of it since I have a 1 yrs zero interest and would like to stay under 50% utilization. So I wanted to request a CLI, but I read somewhere that above 25 k it could trigger financial review and don't want the hassle of being scrutinized and having to send in documentation since I have other options.
Also I have another card, the blue cash, and it has 5 k limit since I transfer this available credit over to the new amex everyday to make it big.
Should I do a CLI
My fico is close to 800 by now and have no baddies. I am in the best shape of my life with credit.
Suggestions appreciated. thanks
If AMEX feels your request is more than they can give on your Everyday card they'll ask you to provide a 4506-T form to fill out to consider your request. This is completely voluntary and different from a financial review. If you don't feel comfortable providing that then you can bring down your request in increments from your previous amount attempt til AMEX gives you an automatic approval. Second option is to request the increase on your Blue Cash card and transfer that limit over to your ED card which might be the more preferable route for you

@Superduper2014 If you feel you need the CLI go ahead and apply for it. A CLI request should not trigger a financial review. If anything, Amex might ask for income verification via IRS Form 4605-T but that's very different from a full-blown financial review.
@simplynoir
Thank you so much for this idea.
My Cash Card has 5k because I moved over the CL to the ED card to make it larger.
I do not use the 5k card at all. Not sure if the fact that I dont use it would deter them from granting a CLI on that card versus trying the CLI on the ED card that I carry almost 50% of the $26500. Also, I tried to move the remaining CL from the 5k cash card and they denied it and left it at 5k stating that was the minimum available credit I should have on that card. This is just a data point and may mean nothing.
I will do this in a bit here, you think I should attempt to do the CLI request on the 5k card and then transfer the CL over still.
Thanks for the link to the guide.

That's basically what I did with my CLI request. I asked to go to $40K, and they requested a 4506-T. I provided. Didn't hear back from them lol. Then I just went ahead and asked to go to $35K, instantly approved.
I only have 1 Amex card though, not sure if I would have gotten $35K while having more than one card. Might have been a lower maximum.

That's odd, I don't recall them ever saying the min is $5K. I left $1K on my Delta Gold because it has a $95 AF.
You do have to leave at least $500 to $1K on the donor card, you cannot reallocate 100% of your CL to the ED.
You might be at too high of utilization with them to grant a CLI. But good luck
Long time, Trifecta AMEX card holder here.
Pro tip, if you don't want to deal with income verification, do not exceed 24.5k on any of their cards.
2 cards are at 24k and 1 is amex gold charge.

My upper no income verification limit is 35K.
