Tempted to apply for this card but does anyone know if it is worth it? How are the benefits?
All depends on how attached you are to Delta airlines. I thought the card was much better when you could bring others into Sky Lounges for free (like every other premium airline card out there).

The companion ticket offets quite a bit of the AF, especially if used for first class.
I don't think companion is free. I believe it's 99 dollars. Gold used to offer. But what. $450 AF. That's steep in any case. May as well get plat

One of the benefits is airport lounges, but you have to watch how they describe "airport lounges". I think the Delta AMEX cards only get you in to the Delta lounges. In other words, it's not the same global lounges as the AMEX Platinum. I had to parse the descriptions very carefully to figure that one out. But AMEX Platinum doesn't get the exact same Delta benefits either, like priority boarding. So one argument is get the Delta Gold card, and the regular AMEX Platinum... or the Diners Club
