Amex Financial review question

Hello there!
I have one Amex everyday card and has a limit of $20k(Increase few times)I always pay my bills on time.I know that you can ask Amex and can get upto 3x CLI.
My question is if I increase my CL to $40k in future and open maybe one or two more cards with them is it gonna pull any financial review?
Thanks

Re: Amex Financial review question

Unlikely that it would trigger a full-on FR but I’d expect a 4506-T request. For many, $35k seems to be the trigger point for it. If you’re ok providing it, then go for it. Otherwise hit the back button and step down by a grand and try again. Repeat until you’re approved. A week or so later when you get the letters requesting a 4506-T you can ignore them.

I would not do it but that is me.

Do you need more than 20k with that card?

Re: Amex Financial review question

Thanks for your info.
So after 6 months I am thinking of rrquest a CLI of $50k from $20k.I can request $60k($20k times 3)but I will ask $50k.
Do you think that it’s a good idea to do so?
Are they gonna ask for proof of income for sure or they may or may not?
Thanks again!

Re: Amex Financial review question

Very likely they'll ask for a 4506-T. You're better off asking for $35k and see what happens. Above that is when most people tend to get the requests. Some have managed to climb incrementally beyond $35k by asking for a few thousand at a time until Amex caps them.

What cards do you currently have with limits above $20k?

Nothing against you. That being said, I see this a lot on here. People posting it either in a form of a statement or question and I've often wondered why. IMO - I say, why not. If the poster wants to try harder, why not? - Again, just curious...

IMHO - I found that having a higher limit doesn't make me spend more but, it allows to maybe leverage other banks to increase CL's. It's also given me the option to close other accounts that I no longer need or no longer meet my spend with out being effected by the closure.

Good Luck out there peeps!

Throwing in the obvious here OP:  It's a YMMV depending on your profile.  We don't know you typical spend patterns, amounts, income, etc. so although 35k is a known data point here, there are those that surpass it based upon individual profile.  In the words of a wise man "So you're saying theres a chance!"
