Heres a little background:
13 months of credit history.
Discover IT Student/$2300 limit/30% util with another 3 months to pay off, will completely pay off in September when i get my school refund check/13 months old
Apple Card (Judge Me)/$1500 limit, sock drawer card. Used it once./Not reported to any bureaus yet
Chase Freedom/$2300 Limit/Approved Saturday, using it to buy books and hit the $500 spend for the SUB and then use it only for the 5% categories, using same refund check to pay it off when I get it.
I really want to get into the AMEX ecosystem, and i have been checking their prequal site. It had been showing me the ED, BCE, and the Green card until today. Today it showed me the ED, BCE, and Gold card. It wasnt the 50k point gold offer though and I really dont have a use for it. It also showed me a message that says "Your credit limit may be up to $2000 based on your credit worthiness". This is the first time I have seen this and I cant find anything else about it online. I dont have a specific APR it's still a range. I want to get the BCE, should i trust the prequal?
EX 720
With Amex, I would be highly surprised if you were denied after a prequal like that. If you want the card, I would definitely go for it. Amex is great and grows well.
Once you get that one, though, I would garden and make the most of the cards you have. You’ll have a good lineup!
Good luck and let us know the outcome!
Yep got approved for $2k limit on the BCE.
I tried to get the instant card number and it took me to a page that loaded for like a minute then crashed, and now I cant get it or make an account. Amex hasnt sent me an email about it or anything. The only thing i have saying i even applied was the experian notification and email about the HP.
Even amex support cant see that I applied because the account is too new. hopefully i actually did get approved lol.
im planning on gardening until 2020, probably longer. the only thing i might open would be a chase amazon prime card (in 2-3 months) when i get the CLI to my Amex so they see i can have a higher limit.

- Cool. That Something New from AMEX. Seem they follow Apple Goldman per-Approval process by showing the limit First! Congrats OP.
They've been doing since before apple. Nobody knows how to trigger it though.

@Anonymous you can check all application status here: https://www262.americanexpress.com/eaol/welcome.do

That's weird. When I do the search I see prequals for AE, BCE, Delta Amex Gold and Amex Gold but nothing about the potential CLs.
