Hi all. I'm wondering if anyone knows what bureaus Amex uses? My score are all 725 and above, with EQ being my low score. I hadn't really used credit in the past so I have a short history, no baddies, about 2% usage, but I do have anywhere from 4 to 6 inq, depending on the bureau. I want to apply but am curious if it would be better to wait until August when my mortgage is a year old and the last of my inquiries will come off. Thoughts?

Amex usually pulls EX mainly but what bureau is pulled is based on your state/region. The best way to find that out is to check the credit pull database (Just google it). For your other question, you don't have to wait till your mortgage is a year to apply..
It won't make any difference if you apply now or August...

Thank you for your help. I guess I was just concerned so many inquiries would limit my chances, after August I won't have any less than a year old. When I go to the prequal site, it doesn't give me any offers so I figured something must be keeping me from qualifying.

A pre-equal not showing does not mean you won't get approved. What card are you looking to apply for? Based on the info you provided, you stand a strong chance of getting approved if you apply...

Probably the everyday card. I probably need to look at the cards closer to see which card is best. I've also considered the USAA Amex but am not really happy with how they don't increase without you requesting and it's always a hard pull. Any pointers if recommendations for cards? I like the cash back options

Amex is not inquiry sensitive. Your starting limit is determined by your current starting limits. But that is the last thing you should worry about when it comes to Amex. Amex cards tend to grow quickly when it comes to limits.
Another good cash back card is thw Chase Freedom. Discover is also good but I see you alreadt have that.
What are the limits on your current cards?

And limits? If you don't want to disclose them, just say what your highest limit is and your lowest is. You are over thinking it. You will be fine with Amex but I understand the hesitancy...
