Amex SPG in progress?

I have 2 other cards with Amex that I've had for a bit... I pulled the trigger on the SPG because where I am looking to take my wife for a vacation has a few Starwood properties. I've been instantly approved for the other but this one said my application needs further review and then the online app status shows "in progress." Is this basically a decline? Maybe because of the holiday weekend it is in limbo?

I don't think it is necessarily a denial. Try calling in.

I'm thinking it might be a denial since I've had instant approval with them before but I'll call tomorrow when they're back from the holiday
