Amex "Pre-Approval" Reversal?

Up until today, I was "pre-approved" for all the co-branded Amex cards and the Everyday and BCE.  I have an Amex Delta Gold and have had it since Oct 2019.

When I clicked on the cards, they would say "X, you are pre-approved".  Now all the mesages have changed to "expand your membership".  Nothing in my credit profile has changed.  My score has actually gone up.  My card usage has not changed either.

Only thing I can think of is that I have not been letting the monthly statement close with a balance.  I PIF before it cuts so it wont report utlization.  Could this some how show Amex that I am not using my card and they've "pulled" the pre-approvals?

Any insight?

Re: Amex "Pre-Approval" Reversal?

Amex knows you’re using the card regardless of whether a balance reports or not so unlikely related to that.

Sometimes offers come and go. But not seeing the offer doesnt mean you wouldn’t be approved. If your account has been open awhile and in good standing I don’t see why you wouldn’t be approved for another card with them.

Re: Amex "Pre-Approval" Reversal?

Thanks for the reply.  Nothing has changed in my profile.  It was just nice to see that "X, you are pre-approved" message when you would click on the apply button.   Now its all gone.

Sort of bummed.

Not IMO.  I never let a balance report and it has never changed the status of my preapprovals.  They know if you are using the card regardless of when you pay.

Re: Amex "Pre-Approval" Reversal?

I am in a similar situation. All AF fee cards are still pre-approved, all non AF cards are "expand."  Similar on biz side, all charge cards are "accept," all revolvers are "submit."

EDIT: Correction, some no AF fee cards are still pre-approved, it is the introductory rate revolvers that have all moved to "expand."

Re: Amex "Pre-Approval" Reversal?

Mine did that as well.  Now when I look it says "Looking to Expand".  Last month I was pre approved for all cards.   I applied for 3 charge cards and 1 revolver got all of them.  2 Days later it was still saying "Pre Approved" but then around the 3rd day of getting approved for all those cards it says Looking to Expand til this day which is about 3 weeks later.   I think it must come and go who knows.
