I'm so glad I continued to read this post as I was unaware the lag between score update and UW was so drastic! My score updates on the 14th as well and I was planning on making another move around the 20th but from the likes of it that will be wayyyyy too soon for UW to see the change. Thanks guys!!

Yeah. You would think the score they show you is the score they are using at the moment.  But nope.

I will wait for atleast 2 refreshes (14th and 28th) and then another week for good measure.  I might also wait for the cards to go "X you're pre-approved".

Also, one thing to note is that Amex does not count Experian Boost scores.  Just in case you are wondering why your scores never match (mine never have and the delta always equals the Boost gain).

I'm actually just thinking of disconnecting the boost.

Just an fyi that your score will drop bc they're going to remove the acct/s from your report. mine dropped 9 points the day after it was removed.

Yes.  I understand but I'd rather see the actual score lenders will use versus a score that just sort of makes me feel good Smiley Sad

I think I have an 8 point delta between my Boosted and Non Boosted score and Amex scores for me are always reflecting that 8 point delta.

So what's the point? You know?

Re: Amex score or range?

Hello I was recently approved for an Amex with an experian Fico 8 of 670 with the delta gold 2000 sl and immediately apped to the Amex everyday which went pending and then approved at 1000 sl. I am not sure why they liked my profile but now I am just gardening waiting to request the 3x cli. I would say start with a cobranded card wait a bit and see what you can get after. I am not sure what they look at specifically but the delta cards imo are the easiest to get, I have seen a range of 640-660 getting them but typically above 660 is what they look for (depending on credit profile)

in terms of already having a card I have heard 3 weeks is how long it takes for uw to get the update for a SP credit app.

I've seen them tell me score they used on a denial letter. But how would you know what age the scores were that they looked at for an approval?

 Smiley Happy Ha..Yes. thank you...

@JDS122 thanks for your data points and suggestions.  But yes.  Similar to you, I was approved for a Delta Amex Gold back in October with scores around 660 or so.  I've been working on some things since then and now in a month will be in a position to apply for the Amex Gold. Smiley Happy

Re: Amex score or range?

Congrats on going for the gold! I believe it is delayed 3 weeks. I have been told by friends and family they wait a month for any big score jumps to reflect before trying their luck at a premium Amex card like gold/plat just to be safe!
