An AMEX "Should I" Question

Okay for 2015 I want to get the SPG card from AMEX but not until I get an offer from Starwood for it.

My next 3x CLI date on my Delta Gold card is Feb 9.

Should I definitely do the 3x before applying for SPG and will my new CL for the Delta then influence a higher starting limit for the SPG?

Curious if this is the best order to do this maneuver?

Re: An AMEX "Should I" Question

I would hold tight for the 3x CLI first. That was the one time I ever got the 3x CLI from Amex. The other times I got the new card at a low-ish limit as well. I dont know how much Amex internal limits influence each other, if at all.

I'm not sure if it'll make a significant impact on the starting limit of the SPG, but since the card seems to be more of a want rather then a need you might as well just wait. It's not that far away anyway lol

Re: An AMEX "Should I" Question

Looks like your Delta is 15k now, so I don't know how it will impact as you won't be at 45k in February right?

Get the SPG now as it won't make a difference with Starwood Credit Limit.......that's what I think.

You already have a high CL Delta.

Josh you are correct.  I'm going to ask for 25K on the Delta.
