Another spree after closing question(s)

DW and I are closing next week and are in the 680's with all 2 CB's. As of now, we only have 3 cards between us and they're all with NFCU.

Any suggestions on where to start? We need a fridge right away and are leaning towards a box store for low introductory interest.

We'll apply for one more each through NFCU, but I'd really like 1-2 more to use ASAP. TIA

Definitely wait until the close process is finalized and funded - keys in hand.  With that said, congrats on the mortgage.

Depending on where you shop and what's available in your area, there's always Lowe's, Home Depot or Menards, for instance.

Lowe's (Synchrony Bank) just recently introduced a pre-qualification option for their CC on their website.  Home Depot (Citi Retail) has a similar feature on theirs as well.  Both are SP as far as the initial pre-qualification goes.  Menards (Capital One) doesn't have a pre-qualification tool, but all 3 offer extended financing options, depending on the amount of your purchase.

Perhaps other members can provide additional options.

While I can’t say enough wonderful things about Navy, you definitely need to diversify your portfolio.

You might try capital one or Discover. Discover has a softpull prequalification I believe.

Once closed, check with Lowes (synchrony). You can recon their SL for a higher spend for house upgrades.

Discover, Amex has pre-qual on their site.

Try another CU like DCU or Penfed.

Last but not least, NFCU will offer 0% or 1.99 percent purchase and balance transfers in Q1 2021. IMO, purchase what you need, then transfer to Navy.

Re: Another spree after closing question(s)

As mentioned,  after closing is finalized... I would go with either Home Depot or Lowes, whichever is more convenient and use the prequal....

With a new home, you will be using either "home" card fairly often ( I would think )..... the other one I would try is Discover,  I think it's good to get in with them and after a period of time, the line will grow and a second card can be obtained.  With Discover you have the flexibility to use it anywhere and not be locked into a specific store.......  I wouldn't go with Capital One at this point ,   because of the triple hit.  just my opinion....  best of luck !
