Re: Anyone with good understanding of softpull data?

Irish (or anyone else who might be knowledgeable).. let me give more details on my direct situation.

So say my score jumps 40 points from recent utilization adjustments, etc.. I am wanting Cap One to softpull me and consider me for a larger CLI and potentially would love to see me "pre qualified" for a better card... but I know without the 40 point boost in their eyes, it would NOT happen... I'm just trying to figure how I can tell and/or how long I need to wait to see the results of my new scores.

Hard to tell.  Most companies will SP you every couple months if you have an account with them so it really depends on when they did the last one. I wouldn't worry too much about the preapprovals.  If you know your score is high enough for a card you want then just apply.  You're going to get HPed regardless if a 'preapproval ' shows up or not.

Re: Anyone with good understanding of softpull data?

I just pulled my Equifax report that I subscribe to directly to them and under the section that says "Inquiries that do not impact your credit rating"...

AR - CAPITAL ONE:  02/17/15, 01/19/15, 12/17/14, 12/09/14, 11/17/14, 10/17/14, 09/18/14, 08/18/14, 07/17/14, 06/17/14, 06/10/14, 05/17/14, 04/18/14, 03/17/14

So based on that.. I think its safe to say since my payments are due on my cards with them on the 10th of each month.. and statements cut on the 13th.... that a few days after that each month they are automatically pulling refreshed data on me.... if I read the data above right? Since I'm a current customer.

Actually suprised that Cap1 is SP'ing you that much.   AR = Account review...  Anyways, I get a SP from Cap1 like every 3-4 months lol on EQ.

Re: Anyone with good understanding of softpull data?

I do use their "credit tracker" which updates monthly.. I bet that would require a softpull right? It allows for refresh every 30 days.

But then again, if AR is account review... that would mean they are probably watching me closely because of low scores in case I file bankruptcy or something.. shrug.

Re: Anyone with good understanding of softpull data?

There score is provided by TU, so you would see the SP on TU report for that.. If your scores are lower or doing other things that concern them more or whatever, yes you will be sp'ed more... Once a month isn't horrible.. People with Chase and Amex some get soft pulled every few days if they have opened up a tons of accounts in a short amount of time, etc... Each time you do a HP certain lenders aka Barclay's, Chase, Amex and sure other get notified automatically of the HP this causes them to SP you seeing who hard pulled you and seeing if you have a new TL as well., which can trigger concern or more SP's, etc
