Apple - CLI Denial

Why? Because I haven't used enough of my existing credit line.

Re: Apple - CLI Denial

I believe credit card denials (including CLI denials) go to the Credit Card Applications forum. If that's correct, someone will come move this thread there soon enough 😂

I haven't received as many (or as generous) Apple CLIs in the last 21 months or so. Perhaps not coincidentally, I also haven't been using it nearly as much in that time as I used to, since I got more flexible cards with the same or better rewards for most of my spending.

Re: Apple - CLI Denial

I'm wondering too if they're going to put the kibosh on CLIs until they transfer everything to Synchrony.

Re: Apple - CLI Denial

Are you sure synchrony is taking over?

the article I read today says American Express was an option, but they won't know for 12-15 months. So for now, we are stuck with Goldman Sachs's

@Hockeypnc1 that's correct. There's been no confirmation of anything, and I doubt that they're close to having an agreement with any bank to take it over.

And it's not as if Goldman Sachs has been a paragon of customer service, nor is it obvious to me that Synchrony would necessarily be worse for most Apple Card customers.

Thank you for your reply

its nearly impossible to reach someone

I do like when you make a payment, it posts right away, which most CCs it will take a day or two.
I got a 2,500 limit at about 13 percent, and like the card for the most part. But no increases were ever granted for me.

I have several times, including in the past week. I have a $4750 limit and put on just over $1K in spend in the 6 months before the  request. The reason given for the CLI denial was that I hadn't used and paid the card enough since the last increase. In the past, they might have approved at least a small increase for the amount amount of spend I put on it, but I don't really blame them for not approving the request.

My FICO 9 score in the CLI denial email was 710.

The topic was never swayed away from, we both said that we got rejected for increases

Re: Apple - CLI Denial

I have gotten this denial reason which is accurate.  IIRC, anecdotal data shows that 20 to 30 % usage yields a CLI.

@Aim_High  has been Apple Card CLI guru.
