Re: Apple Card denied - due to "recently been past due"

Goldman really doesn't like BKs... There are far more declines than there are approvals with BKs. Some of us got in but those of us that did had our major transgressions far behind us.

Re: Apple Card denied - due to "recently been past due"

Really not a Goldman issue right?
A late payment less than 6 months old, a BK, and a 651 FICO is a recipe for denial at a lot of banks.
Suggestion to anyone trying to get approved with a BK....those other two things need to be buttoned up. (score and derogatory).
I got approved with a BK slightly over 2 years old. But my TU FICO 9 is over 700 and my reports are completely clean. Not even pre-BK dirt. Also utilization is optimized. Inquires were a bit high.

I think the articles about GS going subprime were a bit misleading. The were approving people with low scores due to be new to credit. 600 scores due to first or second card not due to derogatories. The fin tech company they use claims to specialize in people with thin files.

I guess I’ll just keep trying every month. I just got a notification that my TU went up from 680 to 683 (1 negative account removed working with LexLaw). At least it’s a SP every time I try.

@Morpho
The late payment is from July of 2018 which I’m working to get it removed. It was due to a banking issue. My BK will be three years old in April of 2020. I have 11 derogs on each CR which I am working to get removed.

Re: Apple Card denied - due to "recently been past due"

Hello to all and happy holidays, this is getting interested, after my BK I had learned a lot about credit repair and also I had learned that because there are different criteria’s for approvals and denials every situation is different for every one, one of my objectives was to repair my credit and I did , for some individuals after they filed BK they got desperate to getting credit I saying this because it happens to me then after joining credit forums from different sources i staring to become more consciously in applying for new credit and with good behavior I reached my goal. Thinking because now I have an excellent credit I applied for the Apple Card and guess what I got denied and I asked my self **bleep** I couldn’t believe then I realice I don’t really need this card if I already carry major credit cards with high limits, then I asked my self what I’m doing I shouldn’t be applying for more credit cards if I don’t need it, maybe this will not concern to no one but I hope this will help to other.

That's insane with your profile that you got declined. I just wanted the 3% cash back for all my Apple needs. Oh well.

Re: Apple Card denied - due to "recently been past due"

Hi Waterman67

There are several things, which you didn't provide that are very important factors to consider when looking at one's overall credit profile.

Those things are salary, DTI, # of inqs in the last 3/6/12/24 months, # of new accounts over the same timeframe, UT for individual CCs, and number of CCs reporting a balance every month. Scores and CLs alone only give a snapshot of your profile. If you want to provide these other things, we can be more helpful and maybe make a determination why you were declined for the GS/Apple card.

Also, what was the decline reason.

|| AmX Cash Magnet $40.5K || NFCU CashRewards $30K || Discover IT $24.7K || Macys $24.2K || NFCU CLOC $15K || NFCU Platinum $15K || CitiCostco $12.7K || Chase FU $12.7K || Apple Card $7K || BOA CashRewards $6K

There are books out there to guide you how to get negative items removed from your credit reports even bankruptcy (much tougher, but it can be done). You can also hire companies to do it for you too. I did, and I've had a few items removed so far. They are not done yet with me.

Did the company you hired get bk removed or did you do it in your own?
