Hello yall!!
So I've tried the "see your credit limit " on the apple card many times LOL.. its always a no.
but this time, it had a few more steps and asked to take pics of my ID so at first I withdrew my app then thought what the heck.
I want to know if their wanting to verify my ID means there's a higher chance of approval (usually there is in my experience with Capital One, Citi, and SyncB)???
Further, please tell me that there still will be no hard pull just because I verified my ID. For those of you that have verified your ID, then rejected a stupid offer like a $500 crappy card, please tell me you did not get a hard pull???
I have four inquiries falling off of TU in less than three weeks, and my TU score finally is in the 720+ range with my plans of it being near or above 800 by year end.
But if Goldman Sachs (Apple) is verifying my ID and they don't even make me an offer at all.. AAND then they hard pull my credit, I am going to be SO MAD.
I just did the prequal for fun. But I could use another 5-10k credit limit card. my scores are getting up there again, so I'm happy about that.

you should only get a hard pull if you accept an approved offer, you will have the opportunity to review their offer and accept/decline it and only if you accept it will you get a HP, even if you go pending and have to submit ID

Requesting for your ID is a positive indicator @youngandcreditwrthy .
btw, Goldman also does Chex Systems.
If you accept, expect a HP.
I havent noted any SL lately but would think that $10,000 is obtainable
if stated income is well over the U.S. average.
@NoMoreE46 @NoMoreE46 @GZG thanks for the input.
yeah, so.. no hardpull, but no offer either, then I get an electronic email denial saying they "couldn't verify my identity" as reason for denial.
based on my research, many people have gone through this and have resubmitted several times.
I'm not going to do that, I was just checking the thing for fun. But I uploaded excellent very easy to see photos of my DL and everything, including address, matches, and my DTI is 10% or less, ..... denying me for not being able to prove my identity is such a crock.
cc fraud must be app. even on the Imprint pre approvals, they have been asking me for my ID as of late, and some pre approvers/pre qualifiers want to link up to my bank account and that's something I simply will not do.
Your credit score is supposed to be a predictor of risk. you want a few paper PDF bank statements, fine. But no logging into my bank account and monitoring me. sorrryyyyy!!
TBH, I think I'm going to recon my Denied Strata app with Citi EO and forget about the Apple Card although I do think it's a nice card, and it would be very easy to use and gain cashback on.
I bet your Chex Systems file is the issue.
What kind of phone did you use to send in your ID picture?
