Applying for CapOne Platinum or Quicksilverone - should I wait until my AU isn't showing anymore?

My score is currently about 620. I am an AU on a Discover card of my parents that has a 16k limit and is always at 99% utilization (pay, use, pay use). I have asked them to get me taken off as AU so this doesn't show on my credit anymore.

I had some issues that I just started fixing a few months ago and had a lot of lates. All my accounts are current as of now though. The AU account is the only account on my report though that shows a 100% positive payment history. I've been told I would still be better off without it on there becuase of the high utilization.

I want to apply for a Cap one card. I had one in the past that I was an AU on and it had a great history and was closed by my parents. I also have a secured Cap One at $49 and is used a lot and paid off every month.

So my question - should I wait until the Discover high uti AU account is taken off before applying? Would I have a better chance putting it through before it disappears because of it's great payment history, or would I be better off when my utilization is showing near 0 rather than 99% because of that?

Thanks for any advice.

If I had a card at that percentage I would not apply for anything until it was resolved. You want to always present yourself in the best possible light to a creditor when apping otherwise you will just be wasting HPs.
