Hi everyone. I am wanting to apply for carecredit in the next couple of months because I would like to get some dental work done. I need about $11k. I have two concerns. One is that my income is only $35,880 a year and the other is that I have around $32k in student loans. My student loans are current and I am in an IBR where my payment is set as $0 as of now. I know if I got a home loan that my student loan payment would be counted as at least 1% of my balance but is that the same with credit cards. Do they figure dti the same way a lender would for a home loan? I am just worried that because I owe almost a years worth of income in student loans that I won't be approved. I do have a car loan that will be paid off in June of this year with no late payments. I also have a capital one card with a $750 limit that is a year old. Also, does it help or hurt as far as credit that I am renting verses buying and that I split the rent with another person.
What are your Fico scores?
I have a little over 50k in school loans and I was able to get approved for $5000 in credit with Care Credit before my bankruptcy. I think as long as your score is good and your loans are current you should be ok.
Oh and my TU score was over 650 at the time
