@Anonymous wrote:Not sure what your scores are, but your TU score needs to be over 700+ to get 12K plus CLI with Lowe's. You would have a better chance with a bigger SL with Lowe's than Home Depot. So, I'm not sure if I would let your wife try. Chances are you will not like the SL.
FYI, I applied for a Lowe's card recently. My TU was 690 and I was approved with a $800 SL. I called and explained that I was going to be making some major purchases and that the CL would not be near enough. I was asked what amount I was requesting and I said $25k. The person came back and told me they could only give me $12k. I took it! OP, call again and talk to a different rep. Might catch someone who can help.
Well I applied and got a $10K SL with 0% until June 2016! My wife is going to go for the same card and between us we'll have $20K in credit, more than enough to do the work needed in order to refinance. Thanks to all for the advice!
Congrats on your approval. I would also try the Cap One pre qualifier and see if you can be pre-approved for the Venture ONE card. I got a 10 k approval and my wife a 15k approval at 2.5 yrs post BK. The Venture One had a 12 month Zero APR that might be valuable if you are remodeling and cannot PIF. If you are pre-approved then your wife can do the same.
June 2016 is not very far away to complete a 2 part addition. I have always had luck with local credit unions. If you start getting hit with some crazy credit card interest rates after the 0% period, I would suggest going to a local credit union and taking out a small personal loan to cover your cards. My lowest APR card is a credit union card at 9.5% interest and no cash advance fees - meaning its basically a line of credit I can draw on at anytime. They are also usually easier to work with than the big credit card companies.
Gratz!!!
With those SL (Starting limits) I would get in with Navy Federal if you can...also Discover, and then Garden...you'll have 100k in combinen limits within a year.
