I filed twice and both times BBVA said they "think my identity was stolen!"It would seem to me that if you provided something in writing to BBVA that you in fact did apply, that CFPB or State's Attorney could intervene since you would have verified that you actually applied and therefore your identity wasn't stolen. I don't get what they are doing now because they took my complaint and issued a card to me when that wasn't even what I requested. I'm not complaining about getting the card, but I don't see how they can say they think your identiity was stolen and that be the end IMO
maddening... they do what they want and get away with it!
It's not right. The FCRA requires that they make credit equally available. By doing this identity crap, they are not making credit equally available IMO. I'll PM you the exact verbage BBVA gave CFPB in my complaint of why my apps were denied due to identity.
my 2nd filing included the exact verbage you sent me... they responded to CFPB the same way they did the first one and CFPB responded the same way too... seems all very automated!
Mine wasn't automated at all. I just sent you PM CA

Please send me your verabge as well. Also a description of your complaint.
I'm on my cell at the moment. I'll send it later this evening. One caveat: this worked for me and so far hasn't seemed to work for anyone else. Please don't take offense with me if it doesn't work as others seem to shun me because it didn't work. I wish it could work for everyone but that's out of my control.

So I called BBVA today. Gave them a reference number for last night's app. After verification of personal information and a brief hold.....BAM! Approved for $12K, my highest starting limit ever!
congrats. nice limit too!
