BBVA NBA AMEX was a horrible experience

I apped for the card late one night and got no answer.  It said to call 1-800-869-1496.  I called and they had no record of me apping.  I apped again.  The message said "Slam dunk!.  Call us".  I called and did the verification thing.  The rep said another rep would call me shortly.  I called back, another verification.  The rep hung up on me.  I called back and it sounded as if someone picked up the phone and hung  it up.  Still no email or anything.  I called again today.  A third verification.  Then the rep finally told me I was denied for the card.  Hard pull did show up on my Experian.  Why did I just go through verifications only to be told my app was declined?  That's rude and with that kind of customer service I'm glad I didn't get the card.  Do they lack the confidence to tell people they got declined?

I think they're just swamped. It's not an excuse for your experience but I think they under estimated the MF effect.

'MF Effect" ... I like that.

I'll tell my coworkers "I hear such and such is giving out huge limits this week" or something like that.  And they always say "Where do you hear this stuff?" and my response is always "Don't worry about it".  But I may change it.  "It's the MF effect.  You wouldn't understand"

Interesting that they're interested in EX so much.

Re: BBVA NBA AMEX was a horrible experience

It was more like an airball.

A reality show where the game winning shot got cut to commercial and you had to sit through 4 minutes of advertising before they replayed the last shot to show you how the game ended.

A total disappointment.

CK and CS use TU and EQ scoring models...Vantage 3.0.  So you won't get an alert from them if BBVA pulled EX.

And myfico takes foreva to alert/report anything compared to the fako free sites.

I doubt they would do HP's on 99.9% of the applicants and SP only you.  Wait for it, it's coming.

Re: BBVA NBA AMEX was a horrible experience

The reason given for my denial is unbelievable.  I called and they verified my information three times.  I was even hung up on once.  My mother says "if they can't verify your information then how did they check your credit?" and "how did they know where to mail your denial letter?".
