BCE App Status

So I applied for the BCE on 8/12 and I was denied. I called for reconsideration the same day and it's been in "in process" ever since. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Re: BCE App Status

I've never tried recon with Amex so I can't speak from experience. However, Amex always says that if you were denied and the reasons for denial are true, then trying for recon will likely have the same results. For instance if something in your file was incorrect, Amex tells you to contact Experian, have them fix it and then they will take a look again. Still could be another HP. Your EX score is a little low for Amex revolvers, I'd take the denial and work on your scores a bit. Stop apping and let your profile grow. Try again in 6 months or so. But you never know, hopefully you get some good news. Good luck to you.

Re: BCE App Status

Just my 2 cents I was also declined with BCE when my score was 619, when I called AMEX stated they don't recon, you have to send them a letter and it's after 30 days. However, impatient me, my score jumped to 629 in 3 days and I applied for BC this time and got it with modified $500 credit. When my EX jumped again to 650 I app again for BCP and was approved for $5,000 and Platinum.

Not sure of your overall profile, but if it's in process now, chances are they are reconsidering it... give it 3-5 business days. If it was declined - It will just say on the app status declined.

Good luck to you!

Re: BCE App Status

I've been waiting since the 12th of this month so it's been over 3-5 business days that's why I'm a bit confused. What do you mean you applied again and got it with a modified $500?

What you see in my signature is what I have along with a $14k 3 year lease with Honda ($26k if I want to buy it out) and 1 serious delinquency from 2011 of $706 from a school loan. Other than that I just started building my credit in April of this year and opened up most of the store cards i have in July with Walmart/Amazon in August. So I'm fairly new to this but I've been gathering a lot of knowledge along the way and it's thanks to this forum.
