Trying to help my mom open up a card or two. For whatever reason, she is totally blocked from Cap1 - it won't even go through the approval process at all, can't tell what it is based on her credit reports, they look really good post BK (she had very few companies included in CH7). My dad has two with them and made her an AU on them. That made her really excited to have a card with her name. But I want to get her credit restablished in case anything happens to my dad (the car lease is in her name and she is also joint on the mortgage, both reporting).
Before I try the SCT and get her something she doesn't need, thought I would ask about Macy's - are they BK friendly? She didn't burn them (I did, don't know if they'll ever let me back in, never even tried). She used her Kohl's all the time but burned them so I'm not sure if it's possible to get back in. How about Syncrony post Ch7? It doens't look like she burned them for anything either. The discharge was in early 2014.
Thank you!
Well, call me shocked! VS just pre-approved her via the SCT for $500. Holding off on having her accept it until I hear back from the more seasoned members!
She will use store cards occassionally as long it is one she wants.
When she had a Kohls credit card they were there ALL the time, always had a coupon, that's where they got all their clothes from. Not that they spent a lot but they really liked going out of the house and going there of all places...........
she more than likely can get kohls again.
how old is the BK?
Discover might be good option

Macys and Bloomingdales has a very strict policy of 4 years post DC date before they will consider a new app.
Doesn't that only apply if you included them?

I was under the impression its everyone. Whe I called in, I inquired if they approved people with a BK, ( i never told the supervisor that they were IIB). All she asked me was how long ago was my discharge, and when I told her, she said thats too soon. They have a strict policy of 4 yrs.)
