BMW Visa Info Request

Does anyone have any updated information on BMW Visa cards?  I found some old threads about two years old.  I recently applied for the BMW Visa two weeks ago. It seems they do everything the old snail mail way.  Even the application site was very dated so much that I thought I might have applied on fraudulent site.  I went into my my bmwusa account and sent a secure message asking it they even received an application?  The response was that in contacting the BMW Bank they did find the application. I was worried so that helped me feel better.  The response also said that BMW Financial and the credit card section are two different entities so they gave me the 24 hour phone number.  I called the number to ask about the status of of my application and was told that they needed some verification and a letter would be sent out outlining what they need.  I asked if he could just tell me what they need and an address to send it to.  He said that was a different area and sounded like more than he wanted to handle so I told him I would just wait on the letter.  He sounded relieved.  Two days after my online app I saw they pulled EX.  At any rate I got the letter and they wanted an ID and UT bill which I sent and also included my most recent statmement on my car from BMW Financial that also shows address.  I just found their antiquated site and practicies to be a little odd for such an advanced company.  This statement does not pertain to the vehicle site bmwusa which is great.

Has anyone submitted an application recently or been approved for a BMW Visa card recently?

Did you have to do verification? (More and more companies are requiring this it seems)

How long did the process take from application to approval or rejection?

Were you approved or denied after verification?

I am assuming that I have not been denied yet since they are asking for additional info to make a decision.  From research on old threads here it seems that the card is not a a great one.  I am not interested in the APR as I won't carry a balance . Will use it at the dealership sometimes.  I do like the emblem on the card.

I was approved for the BMW visa 4 months ago when I started my 2nd lease....... The finance manager did the app for me and said I was also approved for the visa...... I didn't have to send anything in I'm guessing bcus the dealer did the app for me...... It took about 3 weeks for me to get the card... I called BMW credit card number a week after getting approved and the lady saidI was approved for $2500 but no account was set up yet.... it takes a while before the whole process is done......... They don't do online applications... it's either the dealer or over the phone... so that's probably why they requesting verification/// hope this help.....

Thanks for the input. They seem to be slow.

I did do the app online but it was such a plain, strange site that's why I was worried.  I signed into my Bmwusa secure mail  and asked if they received the app and they responded that they did but to call the bank card services number for additional info since it's two separate divisions.  You can apply online but the app is not on bmwusa site.  I had to google it.  The dealer never mentioned the card when I bought the M6 two years ago.  I think they were so happy to sell it they lost their mind as did I when I decided to purchase it but all is good  I love the car.  Who knows they are so fickle they may not give me the card.
