I've noticed you saying that before, and you know what? After 30+ years with BofA, I NEVER KNEW THAT!! Not until I saw your posts. I've been passing up offers left and right for decades, not knowing that anything in my "Special Offers" was good to go!
I love how I'm always learning something new here.
I just checked BOA as well. Had no clue there was a Special Offers tab 😑
Ha ha!!
I knew it was there, and I usually clicked it when it showed a new offer, but I didn't routinely accept them. For credit cards, I never accepted them--as I figured there'd be a hard pull. For BT offers or other things, I did occasionally accept them, depending on what their terms were. But all this time I did not know that you could consider 'Special Offers' legitimate pre-approvals for credit cards!

They can be, but we've seen on occasion where a denial can still happen here or there. Obviously nothing is ever 100% guaranteed when it comes to these offers as well since it's still profile-dependent. And, yes, as stated on another thread, it'll be a HP if the offer is accepted (not SP).

That's very good to know. Thanks, @FinStar! You're certainly right about nothing being 100% guaranteed--not only in the credit world, but life in general!

I recently had this happened to me. I had a special offer, apped, turned down, but offered a secured card that I glady took. I'm shocked they even took me with an active 13. I've been banking with them for many years so I'm sure that played a part.

That backs up @FinStar's point about nothing being 100%. But, really, considering you're currently in BK, I'm not surprised you weren't approved. I'm glad you were offered, and accepted, a secured card--at least it's a foot in the door.
yes i belived it is solid. if they ( boa ) make the offer then your chance are 99%

I don't know about 99%. Maybe more like 60%.
@coldfusion Thanks for the heads up. At this time i'll pass the offer and let time work magic on the recent new accounts.
