Bank of America 3-2-1 Pre-Selected

I just noticed that my Bank of America account of 10+ years has me preselected for a Bank of America 3-2-1 card and I also just received an e-mail about it.  I'd have noticed it before so I know it's a relatively recent addition, and in fact I actually had the pre-select for the secured before I entered the world of credit.

I did some research of the forums and found that people claimed if you have a single APR and not a range, this means your odds are very good.  I have a 17.49% APR listed on the offer.

I only have 2 hard inqs on TU and 3 hard inqs on EQ.  My scores are 677/672 respectively (FAKO for now).

Should I go for it?

BoA prequals are pretty solid, as long as nothing has changed since the soft pull they used to preqal you. That's on the lower end of the APR, so they must like what they see in your report.

As for if you should go for it, does that card work for your spending habits? Personally I have a BBR right now, and will probably get a 321 down the road, but I don't chase rewards as hard as other people do on here.

Re: Bank of America 3-2-1 Pre-Selected

I have the card and I like it. Boa can grow quickly, with another hp usually. But typically, well worth it. My apr is the highest, but I too have an offer now for another 321 rewards with the same apr you see. I plan to ask for an apr reduction after my 0 ends. I think the bonus is 100 bucks right now, but I recently was offered 150. Maybe it will change back.... the prequals seem solid tho if you get a solid apr offer and not a range. Never 100% guaranteed tho . Let us know if you go for it!

Re: Bank of America 3-2-1 Pre-Selected

I have a Capital One QS with a $300 limit so I have 1.5% everywhere currently.  I'd be opening it simply to have a second card to build on and for the fact that some of the rewards outpace my QS such as gas and grocery stores.

I have to admit I just opened a Chase checking and had planned to close out my Bank of America, but I could keep both open to keep my bonus rewards.

Before I got the preselect, I was going to wait and apply for an AmEx and then wait 6 more months and try my chances with Chase.  I'd have 5 cards at that point and probably garden for years because I'd have all the cards I'd really want (CSP,CF,AmEx,QS,BoA321).

Nice job! I started at $2500, but somewhere around 4-6 mos I hit the increase request button and got to 6700. Boa does pretty well when you take the pull for the increase. Just give it some time and you'll probably have the option to increase, if you want to. Congrats!

Re: Bank of America 3-2-1 Pre-Selected

Considering my oldest credit card account is at 3 months and I may not even have a FICO, I'm estatic with $1,000.

I'm not sure why it was low.  They asked about liquid assets, which I hadn't been asked when doing my CO.  I didn't embellish, I have under $5000 so that's what I put.  Probably had a lot to do with it.

Is it common to call recon and ask for a higher starting CL?

VapeDaddy. One other other nice thing is BofA gives you your TU FICO 08 monthly....
NFCU $60.4k/PenFed $22.5k/Commerce $15K/53 $11K/Synovus $14K/BBT $11K/CapOne $12K/DCU $7.5K/BMO $7.5K/Chase $14.5k/Cabelas $10K/ and many many more!
Total CL $398600, plus car and RV loan.
Ooh. Ooh. Getting closer to that $500K mark!

That was one of the other reasons I was interested in having this card.  Thanks for reminding me.
