Bank of America offer?

Got this offer for a cash back Visa in the mail and wonder how reliable it is for approval?

Tried 2 & 4 months ago and both times was offered their $99/500 secured version which I ignored. Although I'd like to develop a relationship, I'm really not interested in a sub-$5K SL.

They may be considered a "prime" lender but, they aren't that enticing to me to endure a HP for a toy limit

11/14/14 Total CL $1,100; 6/30/15 Total CL $180K

Re: Bank of America offer?

They will pull Experian for sure. I recevied a pre-selected offer for this card. I was denied... called to recon... 1K limit. From what I have heard on the forum, this card and lender will grow with you. So I am sticking it out and making it work. Plus you get a hundred bucks for 5 hundred spend in three months. If you have it credited to a BOA savings account, you get an additional 10%.... So far I am happy with them and my decision.

Re: Bank of America offer?

I recently signed up for membership with them. Does this help slide my way in to a CC one day?

Banking and CC's have no correlation.. Was with them 10 years, never once offered me a cc until I closed my account and they asked why and I told them they didn't grow with me as a bank.. Magically I was pre-approved for a CC at that point, but continued to close my account.  Hope this answers your quetsion and I think most will agree.. Only CU it might help to have a banking relationship with w/regards to credit products and possibly a bit of chase, but iffy with even that.

Re: Bank of America offer?

If it has the a set APR and not a range then it is a legit Preapproval, should be good to go. Also, make sure your score hasn't dropped signifigantly, what happens is when you were SP'd by the creditor you may have been a borderline approval but if you fall below that threshold then of course it takes you out of the running if you score has gone up no worries.

BoA mailed offers are usually pretty solid. Can't say the same for Discover.

Re: Bank of America offer?

It can turn into a regular cc over time.  Mine did but starting limit was only 1k.  I will hit them up for 5 or 10k down the road.
