On Dec 31st I applied for the BankAmericard Platinum Visa in hopes of obtaining the 0% BT for 18 months. I applied for this after being accepted for these cards.....
1)Discover IT $3000 Limit
2)Amex PRG
3)Amex Everyday $2000 limit with CLI to $5000 after activation
4)Navy Fed Go Rewards Visa Signiature with $11800 limit
I used Discover and the Navy for BT after AMEX Everyday declined my request because of my initial $2000 limit
Before I knew I was approved by Navy Fed I tried to get BankAmericard Visa and was denied. Well today I received a letter from Bank of America as to why I was denied and an offer for a Secured version of the Card. Now why would I accept that, with the other cards I have (I also have the Amex BCP card, Chase Freedom and Slate.) Especially when my Credit score according to the letter was 733. This was through Experian.....
Now the reason they denied me wasn't because of inquiries, like I thought it would be. The reason they gave is I have sufficient utilization of my credit and I don't have sufficient installment loans with recent payment history.
Ok granted my CU with Experian at the time of the App was 34%. The reason being is that my Discover Card that I am an AU on is not reported to Experian for some reason. With TU and EQ my utilization is 25%.
Just wanted to vent a little. Bank of America has been a nemesis of my family, so maybe this is a good thing not being approved. Oh well. I got some great cards coming to me. Amex and Navy Fed have been very good to me.

I feel your pain. I consider Bank of America my nemesis also. I have had all sort of issues with them. Time to move on!
