Barclay Apple Visa

In in need of a new laptop and was wondering what you think my chances of being approved for this card are. My scores are TU 648 EX 641 and EQ 642. I have a couple of baddies-2 CO's from 2010. My until is on high side-55-60%. I'd love to use the Apple financing but with the high util. Not sure they'd approve. I applied a year ago and was declined.

Re: Barclay Apple Visa

I'd say to get the utilization down quite a bit, and then wait for the score increase that will result from that. What was the reason given for your prior declination?

Re: Barclay Apple Visa

I got 2k with a 619 credit score. YMMV, and all that jazz of course.

I think you've got a decent chance of approval, although you may have to call for recon and will probably get a low SL. I had 3 recent baddies showing on my report, with a TU score only a little higher than yours, when I was approved for a Barclay card (via recon phone call) a couple of months ago.

Thanks for the replies! I think I'll wait a  few months and try and get the util down rather than risking a denial now.

Sounds like a good plan. If the baddies are from 2010, can you wait until they drop off in 2017?

The reason I am suggesting that is:

TU in the 640's range

plus unpaid collections

doesn't present as strong a profile as you would like with them.

If it's not possible to wait that long, I'd keep with your plan of lowering utilization, which will improve your score a bit, and then give it a try.
