Hello to all once again! Last week I received an auto cli from Barclay on the rewards MC (9th statement). It went from 1000 ---> 2300. I had been planning on a HP request before they gave me some auto luv. Will barclay consider a HP cli after an auto? They pull TU almost, if not completely, exclusively and I only have 2 INQs on that bureau. Didn't know if there was a 6 month wait to see how you handle the new CL or not.
Has anybody tried this?
Don't wanna be greedy but If they keep showing this kind of love, Barclay will replace the freedom (1k) as my #2 card next to the BCE ![]()
Sometimes individuals may not feel the current purchasing power may be sufficient. This all depends on your spend patterns and usage on the card. However, even with a recent auto-CLI, requesting another CLI (manually) will result in a HP. And, with no guarantee you will get approved or any significant growth - YEMV. If an HP is of no issue, then try it by all means. If you are safeguarding your HPs, then ask yourself whether it's worth the risk.
go for it if you are willing to spear a HP

The statement cut on the 5th of this month. From the 5th through today (the 9th), I've run $900 through it. And about another $600 on the freedom in the same time frame. I feel like HP isn't an issue since there's only a couple on TU. However, I don't wanna waste the HP if there's some policy that would auto-deny the cli.

Unlike Discover per se, there isn't a fully disclosed policy for Barclays associated with CLIs. You could be denied and they may recommend more time to see account performance or in other instances they can be flexible and approve a higher amount if your internal history and profile supports it. Only you can make that decision based on your overall credit profile, income and history with Barclays. Usually, unless you're in a rush, time is your best friend in most cases.
