I just had 3 CLI'S with three other cards and waiting for my fourth this week. Fingerhut from $700 to $1300, Wal-Mart from $1200 to $1700 and Cap1 Platinum MC from $300 to $2300. Doesn't this show positive history and responsibility? I just want to get all the cards on my list before the end of the year and start 2015 in gardening mode.

It might not justify your responsibility enough. Don't quote me on this either, but it might be counterproductive to getting a new card because since you've been extended so much credit recently they might be even more reluctant to approve you for a card. That's probably a stretch, but I just want to throw that out there. And I'm not sure if CLIs are automatically posted to your report, but if they aren't, Barclays might not even see them. Don't quote me on that either. I'm not an expert on the technicalities. But since these CLIs are recent, it makes waiting even more strategic because in a few months you'll show even more responsibility by being more responsible with more credit. Geez, lots of redudancies.

Maybe I will wait. There are just so many cards out there. Lol.

Yes wait.. There are better cards out there in my opinion. One thing I have realized is, when your scores are higher and your AAoA is better, you get any cards you want.  Patience is key..  You will benefit tremendously.

Re: Barclay Rewards Mastercard App

Thank you for your input! No, CLI'S usually post on the next cycle so 2 out of 3 will be reporting. My head tells me to wait but my itchy app finger is screaming to at least app for the Apple Rewards. Lol.

What are the benefits/perks of that card? I know the feeling and myFICO doesn't really help much because most of the time people just tell you to go for it. I applied for 3 cards in the span of 36 hours last week haha. But if people are telling you to wait, that's probably a sign that you should since they really do usually tell you to apply and see.

Re: Barclay Rewards Mastercard App

The Rewards MC is a good rewards card with no annual fee. The Apple Rewards really has no benefit for me as I hate Apple products and the rewards go towards apple products. It was just basically to get my foot in the door with them. I have my Freedom that I love, Discover will come down the road and Amex does not interest me in the least. So, basically I wanted this card to complete my list and that last app on my list is a Barclay's card.

if you apply again barclay will deny you again...they like to see how you handle accounts for at least a year. or you can keep applying and get multiple denials the choice is yours

Re: Barclay Rewards Mastercard App

there is 2 versions of BRM.

I have the "average credit" rewards card and i got it with 3 others to start a rebuild. it is now junk and has served its purpose and is SD (after 6 months).

You have plenty of cards to garden for 6 months and should get siggies offers then.

Pass on it and grab a sallymae from them in your next spree.

Re: Barclay Rewards Mastercard App

Thanks for your advice but I'm pretty sure people get approved for Barclay's daily with less than a year of history. Most around 6 months. Plus, because of the POSITIVE encouragement from other posters, I am not going to apply for either card.

Re: Barclay Rewards Mastercard App

Thank you Elim for your advice! Most of my cards are approaching the 6 month mark with a couple of weeks, at the 6 month mark or over. I actually only have 2 newer cards, Wal-Mart in August and Amazon in November. When I reconned with Barclay's the rep advised that they like to see 6 months of history which I have. I think I will wait for the Sallie Mae after doing more research on the card. It seems like a better fit for my needs.

Barclay's was the only denial out of my inquiries. :/ That was the only reason, they were impressed with my 100% on time payments and no baddies at all. They just said they wanted to see more time. I think it's been plenty of time... Lol. Do you think I should app for the Apple Rewards instead to get my foot in the door?

credit is a marathon not a sprint.....let your accounts age and wait 3-6 more months...
