Barclay Ring Mastercard Denied....Grrrr

after an evening of fun at the pool and too many Bahamah Mamas...yummy...I apped for the Barclays NFL and got approved, but actually ment to app for the Ring Card....that got denied.....grrrr.  Anyone have experience with recon and changing the product?

Yes. they are not going to change it at approval. Earliest Pc ive seen is 6 months. most cases 9-12 months. and not sure they will ever just do if for the ring.

There was an individual who not long ago applied for one of their cards and meant to really apply for another one (I can't recall if it was SallieMae - maybe someone can remember the thread).  Bottom line, they were able to close the one he mistakenly applied for and approved the other one.  But, no guarantee OP...YEMV.

IIRC, as long as the application is within the 30-day threshold, they can probably re-review it to see if you can be reconsidered for Ring (and close NFL).  In the future, do some research beforehand and don't mix drinking and apping since as you can see it can lead to poor decisions

I'm not sure about PCing, but I can say after 9 months of having a Barclays Apple Financing card I applied for the Ring and was denied. All I had to do was request a portion of my Apple Financing credit limit be moved and they were more than happy to open up the Ring card with that credit. In the end, I cancelled the Apple Financing card and moved all of the available credit over to the Ring card.

Depending on your CL, they were fairly easy going about moving credit limits around for me to open another card.

There will be no immediate fix available but after some months go by you should be able to PC.

Worth a call to the backdoor # and explain your situation other then the drinking part.. They might be able to take care of you and get you the ring vs. the NFL card..  Wish you all the luck.  A few people this has happened to and had success.. As always YMMV.
