Last month I went on a little app frenzy after my Venture approval, one of the last cards I applied for was the Barclay NFL card. Received the message that the app was pending and I would get a letter in 7-10 days. I immediately checked the status online and it said there as well that it was pending. Applied over the weekend, the next day checked the status and it said that they could not offer me a card (took that as denied). Applied for their Rewards card in November and immediately after applying I got their denial message when checking the online status and then a letter came in the mail stating the reason why i was denied and my score. I also tried to recon then but it was a no-go.So after my status changed from pending to "we can not offer you a card" i took that as a denial and was going to recon after receiving my denial letter.
Fast Forward to today and I get the letter from Barclays but it says "We have reviewed your application and determined that additional information is needed before we can process your request" Then states "We need to verify information listed on your application" It tells me I have 30 days to call them and gives me the number 866-469-5977. This kind of shocked me since online it stated that they could not offer me a card after a day of the status saying it was being reviewed.
I researched the number like i always do and found some people stating it was a scam!! That they received this letter and never applied for a card. With me I actually applied and got this letter shortly after. There are also quite a few people stating that it is a real number and its Barclay's security department. Has anyone gotten this letter after applying for a card with Barclay or does anyone know if this is the legit number to Barclays security department? Thank You in advance!!
