Anytime you app for Barclay's you should call the recon/backdoor line, even if you're approved instantly. If you get the 10 day message, call to get reconsidered. If you get instantly approved, call for a higher CL. They're always willing to work with you.
Tell them you're about to finance a large purchase and you've saved up more than half of it. For me, I told them I was going to put the down payment of a car on my card and got a 50% CL increase 10 minutes after my instant approval, no extra inquiries.
